Thingvellir Tour Prices in 2026: What $85 to $2,724 Buys
The short version. Thingvellir tours run from $85 a person on a Golden Circle coach to $2,724 for eight days around Iceland, and $1,650 for a private car of up to three. The park itself costs nothing to enter, so every fare is transport, a guide and the other stops. What moves the price is group size, time in the park, and what else sits in the fare, from a lagoon ticket to seven nights' accommodation.
Every price below is the operator's own, in US dollars, and every one is on Thingvellir Tours. Prices move with the season, so treat them as a starting point. What follows is what each band buys you, and what it leaves out.

Why does the park itself cost nothing?
Because Thingvellir has no gate and no ticket. There is no Thingvellir entrance fee hidden inside any fare, whatever a listing's inclusions say. The national park charges for parking, 1,000 ISK a car for the day, and for its exhibition, 1,200 ISK for an adult. It sells permits for Silfra, camping and fishing. It charges for nothing else.
So when you compare tours, you are comparing everything around the park: the vehicle, the group, the guide, the time and the other stops. Visiting the park lists every fee the park charges.
What does $85 to $89 buy?
A seat on a Golden Circle coach. Gray Line, from $85, gives Thingvellir 30 minutes on a six-and-a-half-hour day from BSÍ. Magic Iceland, from $85, gives it 45 minutes and adds Kerið and a horse farm. Reykjavik Excursions, from $88, gives it 30 minutes. BusTravel Iceland, from $89, gives it 40, with Kerið on morning departures.
That buys you the whole Golden Circle at the lowest fares. What you give up is time and space: the coaches carry up to 65, 99 or 100 people, and the stop in the park is short.
What does $121 to $135 buy?
A smaller group. Your Day Tours, from $121, caps its minibus at 19 and gives the park 45 minutes. Back to Iceland, from $135, gives it 40 minutes and adds Kerið, with pickup from the Skarfabakki cruise harbour as well as hotels and bus stops.
Lunch is not in these fares. Back to Iceland stops at a local restaurant or grocery shop where you can buy a meal, or you can bring a packed lunch.
The Secret Lagoon day sits in the same band, from $133. It includes the entry ticket to the Secret Lagoon, but it treats Thingvellir as a photo stop. You are paying for the lagoon, not the park.
Why does the Blue Lagoon day cost $268?
Because the lagoon ticket is inside it. BusTravel's small group, from $268, includes a Blue Lagoon Comfort ticket, with the use of a towel, a silica mud mask and your first drink. It takes 18 at most, gives Thingvellir 45 minutes, and runs 11 hours.
If the lagoon is part of your plan anyway, this is the band to look at, because the ticket is already bought and the transport between the two is handled.
What do Silfra fares buy?
A guide, a suit and the snorkel. DIVE.IS, from $159, meets you at the Silfra car park and includes a drysuit and warm undersuit, a heated changing van, hot chocolate and the permit. Troll Expeditions, from $149, meets you by P5 and includes GoPro photos; its fare leaves out parking. Adventure Vikings, from $219, collects you in Reykjavík and includes underwater photos.
The dive, from $349, is for certified drysuit divers, in a group of three with a PADI instructor. The Silfra permit is included on the DIVE.IS fares; the park does not publish its price on its static pages.
What does a private tour cost?
It depends on how the fare is priced, and the difference matters.
- Per car of up to three: Oak Travel's Thingvellir half-day from Harpa is $713, about $237 each for three. Pickmeup's Golden Circle day is $1,650, or $550 each for three.
- Per person: Prime Tours' four-hour private tour is $477 a person.
- Per person, minimum two: Mercury Grail's day with the Blue Lagoon is $470 a person, and BR Tours' SUV day is $820 a person.
Only the Thingvellir-only half-days buy you more time in the park: two hours from Harpa, and four with Prime Tours. The private tours page sets them side by side.
What do multi-day tours cost?
From $948 to $2,724. Troll's three-day south coast trip, from $948, includes two nights, two breakfasts, a glacier hike and an ice cave, and gives Thingvellir an hour. Arctic Adventures' three-day trip, from $989, includes an ice cave, the glacier lagoon and two nights, with 30 minutes at Thingvellir.
Troll's eight-day minibus tour around Iceland, from $2,724, includes seven nights, whale watching, an ice cave and a glacier hike. It gives Thingvellir 30 minutes. At that price you are buying Iceland, and the park is the first morning.
What does an hour in the park cost?
This is the sum no price list shows. On the cheapest coach, $85 buys you 30 minutes at Thingvellir. On Oak Travel's half-day, $713 buys a car of up to three two hours in the park. On Prime Tours' private tour, $477 a person buys four hours.
If the park is the reason you are going, the private half-days are the better value per hour, even though the fare is higher. If the park is one stop on a day of sights, a coach is hard to beat.
How does the price change with the size of your party?
Per-person fares multiply; per-car fares do not. Here is what the same day costs in total for two or three people.

For a party of three, the half-day from Harpa is the cheapest private option and the one that gives the park two hours. For a couple, the per-person private days cost more than the per-car ones would.
Do higher prices buy better-rated tours?
Not in any simple way. The cheapest coach, Gray Line, rates 4.5 from 5,737 reviews. Reykjavik Excursions, a few dollars more, rates 4.8 from 2,624 reviews. Back to Iceland's small group rates 4.9 from 269 reviews.
At the top of the range the review counts get small. Oak Travel's half-day rates 5 from 5 reviews, and Prime Tours' private tour 4.8 from 5 reviews. The Silfra fares have both rating and volume: the DIVE.IS snorkel rates 4.9 from 5,154 reviews, and the DIVE.IS dive 5 from 597 reviews. A high rating on a handful of reviews tells you less than a slightly lower one on thousands.
Are photos included in the Silfra fares?
On some. The Troll self-drive snorkel includes free GoPro photos, underwater and out of the water. The Adventure Vikings snorkel includes underwater photos. On the DIVE.IS snorkel and dive, souvenir photos are sold separately.
